Who we are

Emily Bradley MEd,LPC,NCC

Hi there! My name is Emily and I am honored to walk alongside your family. I work with children and families to move from surviving to thriving.

I believe that you are a great parent who loves your child…AND parenting is also really hard at times. Both things are true and the beautiful thing is that we don’t have to do it alone. At Nurtured Nest, I hope you find a part of your village. The heart of my counseling practice is to build authentic, trusting relationships where you and your child feel connected, seen, heard, supported, and valued.

Along with experience in private practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), I spent 14 years in education, with 11 of those as a professional school counselor. During this time, I developed a counseling program that supported the whole child, connected with families, and leaned deeply into trauma-informed practices such as Trust-Based Relational Intervention®. I love supporting and empowering children and caregivers with practical tools for navigating challenges while building more connected relationships as a family.

I graduated from Texas A&M University and then attended the University of North Texas, where I graduated with honors in a 3-year clinical counseling program in 2013. As a lifelong learner, I am excited to be back in school as a doctoral student in the Counseling & Counselor Education PhD program at TCU.

Most importantly, I am Levi and Jonah’s mama. We also have a sweet and sassy 3-pound doggie named Mia, who is a frequent therapy sidekick.

Parenting is not always easy. Being a kid is not always easy. But we can do hard things together.

Katie Lee MS, LMFT-Associate

Hi! My name is Katie Lee, and I am a LMFT-Associate with an M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy, supervised by Erica Carpenter, LMFT-Supervisor. I work with children, couples, and families, providing support for relational issues, behavioral issues, family stress management, and life transitions. I recognize that no single family or child is alike, and I desire for all to feel nurtured and respected with the ultimate goal of sessions to foster connection, resilience, and healing. I integrate play and movement into all my work with children.

My work with children and families began after I graduated in 2004 from Kenyon College in Ohio with a B.A. in Psychology. After graduation, I began teaching at a Montessori school in Oakland, California. I obtained my Montessori Early Childhood Education certification from St. Mary’s College of California in 2007 and taught for 17 years in California, Kentucky, and Texas. After countless parent-teacher conferences, I realized parents and families were often surviving instead of thriving. I wanted them to thrive! I decided to return to school to become a family therapist to honor myself and my own parenting journey and the struggles of all those families who desperately needed support and caring over the years.

I completed my M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy at Texas Woman’s University in 2023 and have received additional training in trauma-informed care, working with diverse and marginalized populations, Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, Simplicity Parenting, Polyvagal Theory, Child-Centered Play Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy, and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP).

When I am not busy being a mom of two or seeing clients, I enjoy cooking, traveling, outdoor adventures, yoga, reading, taking care of my chickens, and having dance parties with my eleven-year-old and eight-year-old.
